Here are a few things that might help you decide if a Siberian Husky or a Giant Alaskan Malamute from Hudson's kennels is right for you !!!

Also notice that our dogs are not behind bars, in small cages or on short leashes.  Our dogs are allowed in large areas where they live and play together.  They are NOT left on small concrete slabs.  They have plenty of trees for shade.  And are given small pools for the summer.  OH YES this is much more work then having them in small areas but it is well worth it....
Our dogs are social with each other and live together.  Also a misconception about Alaskan Malamutes being aggressive towards the same sex.  That is a false claim.  What sled team do you know that has dogs that can't get along.  That is silly.  If you have Alaskan Malamutes that can not get along that is a temperament issue in most cases and you may want to look into the pup you are getting because parents temperaments are passed to the pups.
Also inbreeding is an important issue to ask about if this is against your beliefs.  There is No inbreeding here at Hudson's Huskies & Malamutes Kennel which is a common practice of many kennels.  Why do you constantly talk about your spacious kennels? Does it make a difference?

Many people do not know the difference in a Siberian Husky & Alaskan Malamute.
Below is a link to explain some of the differences to you.
The Siberian Husky is an outgoing, fun-loving dog. He is lighter in build than the Alaskan Malamute, and also less bold. A medium build Apx. 35-65lbs in weight.  But he still requires an alert owner who stays in control, as the Siberian's nature is to roam and explore, as his Arctic ancestors did.  That is one reason it is important to be aware of where your husky is at all times.  He also does well with other dogs and cats. Siberians do much better with homes with more than one animal. Does well in an apartment or in the back yard.

The Siberian Husky is a member of the Working Group and was first recognized by the AKC in 1930.

Having a breeder that has been breeding for many years with indepth knowledge of their bloodlines is very important.  I stress how many years we have been breeding and our lines, because multiple generations of healthy dogs is the best way to ensure that you get the superior quality and most sound genetics in your new pup.  Beautiful "Bolt" below is 5th generation here at Hudson's.  Stitch is her mother, Karra her grandmother, Cyble her Gr. Choosing your breeder can be hard.  What questions to ask can sometimes be confusing.  Knowing your breeder is breeding for health and temperament first.  What your breeder is doing to improve the breed. Ensuring that they are not mixing different breeds of dogs.  Here at Hudson's we only have AKC purebred dogs and we never mix different breeds together.

The Alaskan Malamute, one of the oldest Arctic sled dogs, was named after the native Innuit tribe called Mahlemuts, who settled along the shores of Kotzebue Sound in the upper western part of Alaska.  Malamutes babysat the Mahlemut children while parents were out on hunts which is one reason they make very good family pets.  Alaskan Malamutes in weight are standard size 65-85 lbs.  However, they can weigh up to 150 lbs., these are considered the Gentle Giant M'loots.

The Alaskan Malamute is a member of the Working Group and was first registered by the AKC in 1935.
